Celeste Christmas stocking is knitted from the shaft down towards the toe. The top edge of the elastic, the heel and the toe are knitted in one colour, while the rest of the sock is knitted in Jacquard knitting with 5 different colours. The heel is shaped using shortened rounds.

Be aware that pattern knitting should often be knitted on a 0.5-1 mm thicker stitch size than solid plain knitting. Therefore, make a sample in both pattern knitting and solid plain knitting, before you start knitting.

Gauge: 22 stitches x 32 rounds in stockinette stitch on needles 3 mm = 10 x 10 cm

22 stitches x 24 rounds in pattern knitting of 4 mm = 10 x 10 cm

Knitting suggestions: Circular needles 3 mm and 4 mm (40 cm), double pointed needles 3 mm
