Lyon Sweater Junior is knitted from the top down. First, the upper part of the back is knitted with increases. Next, the shoulder parts are knitted from picked up stitches at the top of the back piece. Stitches are then picked up along the shoulder sections and the rest of the yoke is knitted together on the circular needle, first back and forth and then around. The torso is knitted in the round on circular needle and the sleeves are knitted in the round on double pointed needles or with Magic Loop technology. Finally, a double-fold elastic edge with built-in double knitting is knitted in the neckline. Lyon Sweater Junior is knitted with stripes from the center of the yoke downwards.

Size guide

The Lyon Sweater Junior should have a range of motion (positive ease) of approx. 18 cm in relation to the bust measurement. Sizes 1-2 (2-3) 3-4 (4-5) 5-6 (6-7) 7-8 (8-9) 9-10 (10-11) 11-12 (12-13) 13 -14 years corresponds to a bust measurement of around 53 (54) 56 (57) 59 (62) 64 (68) 72 (75) 78 (80) 82 cm. The measurements of the finished sweater are given on the front of the pattern (note that these measurements only apply if the knit strength is maintained). If you/the recipient e.g. measures 62 cm around the chest, you should knit a size 6-7 years. A sweater in size 6-7 years has an overall width of 80 cm and in the mentioned example will provide a range of motion (positive ease) of 18 cm. If the measured bust measurement deviates from the age guide, you should pay attention to adapt the length to the person you are knitting for. The same applies if the child is shorter/taller than average.
