Stitch by stitch - towards a hand-knitted wardrobe

Stylish slow fashion. Knit your own capsule wardrobe.

" Knitting is one of the purest forms of slow fashion for me, and a strong counter-reaction to the clothing giants' hectic ideals around consumption and trends. Knitting is my way of working creatively in the fashion industry and through the craft I put the production in the hands of those who will actually wear it the clothes." /Elin Berlin

Stitch by stitch, a hand-knitted wardrobe is created. Based on a capsule wardrobe, i.e. your personal basic wardrobe, Elin has designed 14 pieces and accessories that you can combine and wear together. Here you can find classic items such as a white shirt and the little black dress, but also jackets, trousers, skirts, sweaters, dresses, t-shirts and caps.

Elin's background in fashion design and pattern construction permeates the book and blurs the line between knitted and tailored. She draws on traditional craft techniques and combines them with modern cuts. You get tips and advice on how you can adapt the clothes to suit your style and body. Start from yourself when choosing colors and materials for your projects. Create garments that you love, that you want to care for and can use for a long time!

Elin Berlin holds a bachelor's degree (BA) in fashion design from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. She works as a pattern constructor and designer in her company Wool & Beyond in Malmö and sells digital knitting patterns with customers in Scandinavia as well as the USA and Asia, as well as spreading knowledge and inspiration through Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
